Bloomer Platform Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how personal data about you may be used and disclosed by Bloomer Health Tech (“Bloomer Tech” or “we”). Bloomer Tech makes available the Bloomer Augmented Garment Platform (“Bloomer Platform”), which can be used in home, healthcare settings, and during normal daily everyday activities for decentralized cardiac rehab and monitoring done at home or otherwise at a person’s convenience. The Bloomer Platform consists of the combination of products and systems that consist of the Bloomer sensors, textile, and electrical harness that are attached to a supporting garment such as a bra, the Bloomer Mobile App and Software Library, and our Secure Server. This Privacy Policy (“the Policy”) applies specifically to personal data collected through and processed by the Bloomer Platform.

Collection of Personal Data

Bloomer Tech collects patient and study information related to your cardiac activity, including your cardiac and other activity data, demographic information such as age or date of birth, study-specific questionnaire responses, your entries in the Bloomer App journal function, and contact information. The cardiac and activity data we collect includes:

  • Heart rate;

  • Electrocardiography (ECG);

  • Heart rate variability;

  • R-R interval;

  • Respiration rate;

  • Skin temperature;

  • Activity (including step count);

  • Posture/position (body position relative to gravity including fall); and

  • Motion speed changes;

Use and Disclosure of Personal Data

We use your personal data for the following purposes: 

  • To provide, coordinate, or manage your cardiac rehab, overall cardiac health, and any related services;

  • For research purposes, including carrying out research studies and other study-related purposes;

  • To train our algorithms and AI models designed to support cardiac health, including but not limited to detecting arrhythmia and other heartbeat patterns. [However, we only use information that has been de-identified to train our algorithms and AI models.]; and

  • To aggregate or de-identify it so that it no longer identifies you personally.

We may disclose your personal data to researchers when certain conditions have been met such as their research has been approved and established protocols are in place to ensure the privacy and security of your personal data. This includes research being done under the approval of an Institutional Review Board, consistent with your informed consent. We will also disclose your personal data to our service providers, subject to appropriate contractual controls to protect the privacy and security of your personal data. We may also use and disclose your personal data for treatment purposes, for public health purposes, in connection with the transfer or sale of our business, in response to a request from you, or as required by law.

Data Security

Bloomer Tech employs appropriate technical, administrative, and physical safeguards to prevent the unauthorized use and disclosure of your personal data.
